Yeah, and we also landed on the moon.
Why didn't anybody bother telling me that the purveyor of the quintisential 80's pop song (I Can Dream About You, for those who aren't in the know) passed on over ten years ago. Bill, don't bother posting that he's dead. I already know. You're late. Wow, he's dead. The craziness of reality, eh?
Yeah, and we also landed on the moon.
We landed on the moon????!!!
WOW!!!..That's awesome!!!!
There's also a thing called the "internet" now too
The way I figure, when he died, I had no idea of who the song or artist were so, if I had heard it, it wouldn't have registered. Still, thanx for your condecension.
<font size="4" face="Arial">How old are you again? If you were at all alive in the 80's, especially when Streets Of Fire was released, then there was no way you were not familiar with that song. But I seem to think you are what...27 or so? So maybe you could have missed that thing being HUGE!Originally posted by Cotton Candy Lover:

Oh, and did you know Dan Hartman was white? Remember what a HUGE shock that was when that one was realized by people. That was part of why he never suceeded people think. Everybody was expecting the guy from Streets Of Fire to have actually been the vocalist, that when Dan Hartman showed up to do the song, it just looked sooooooo wrong! LOL!!!
Kinda like everybody thought Rick Astley ("Never Gonna Give You Up") was black because of his soulful voice, til they saw him on MTV and he was the palest man on the planet. LOL!
Actually, Carl, I didn't see the movie when it came out. Didn't really get into music at all until about 89. I'm 29, btw. When I started listening to radio and such, grunge hit and the only place you could hear stuff like this was on easy listening radio. Never thought he was black. Did enjoy the tune, though. Were the other songs from that soundtrack as good?
I think there was one other hit. I never saw the movie either. But the dang video was all over the place back then, and the video used the movie footage of the song being performed live, and it had a fake band that was a Motown type of band. The guy singing in the video did a brilliant lip-sync, and he looked perfect with the voice. If you have never seen the video, check it out. It makes the movie look great, and that was another major complaint, the movie actually sucked, from what I have heard.
My Dad actually liked Rick Astley!!! Bought all of his albums for a bit there. This is a guy who only listens to Marine Marching stuff! LOL!!!
